WIND is Finally Here!

Looks like after an the calmest stretch of weather I can ever remember in March, the spring Wind has finally decided to show up.  Even with the north wind today at 25-30mph the air temp is still in the low to mid 60's and the sound water is a balmy 68 degrees.  The rest of the week looks great for wind as well.  With SW on the way, the temperatures should only get warmer.  If you can get here before easter its a great time to take advantage of the super offseason rates and this abnormally warm, windy weather.

Sunday Afternoon 3/11/12

The Surf this afternoon was in the waist to stomach high range with light ENE wind around 5-10mph.  Nothing special but with 58 degree water it wasn't a bad day to paddle around and catch a couple for early march.  As you can see from the second picture there is a tremendous amount of sand built up at the first Jetty.  This just shows how much warm southwest wind we have had this winter.   Normally on an average winter there is absolutely no sand from all the north swells.  I can't remember a March where there was that much sand at the jetty.    Not much swell or wind on the forecast for the next several days.  Hopefully that will change soon.  With the water this warm already we are expecting a warm and windy spring!!
